ANDOVER A man broke into a North Main Street home on Friday and tied up a 16 year old girl before fleeing and breaking into another house.

The man, described as white and between 20 and 30 years old, entered through an unlocked garage door at 275 North Main St. about noon, Andover Commander Charles Heseltine said.

The girl’s mother and brother then arrived home and the man fled the same way he came in, the commander said. The fleeing man went undetected by the mother and brother.

The teen was unharmed, police said. Nothing was reportedly stolen from the house,

The man is suspected of breaking into a house on Harding Street as well, Heseltine said.

Police found evidence at the Harding Street home that tied the break in to the earlier home invasion on North Main Street, the commander said.

Items stolen from the Harding Street location included clothing, police said.
