MADISON, Wis. The man accused of killing a woman inside a Madison group home and injuring another in 2016 was found not guilty of first degree intentional homicide Thursday night.
The jury did find 27 year old Ali Hassan guilty of a lesser charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a weapon, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
Hassan is accused of shooting and killing 23 year old Fatoumatta Jallow inside a Rem Wisconsin Group Home where she worked on Kevin Way.
He is also accused of shooting a second female employee, who survived. Hassan attorney doesn debate he committed the crime, but he said it wasn intentional,
while the prosecution said there was clearly intent.
“When you shoot two people, when you take your gun and shoot two people multiple times in the torso, that the end, that is first degree intentional homicide,” Prosecuting attorney Valerian Powell said in court Thursday.
