Colorado Springs police are continuing their search for a man who they say shot at officers Friday near Union and Vickers. The shooting prompted a lockdown on an entire neighborhood.

Police originally arrived on scene for a disturbance involving a gun. When police arrived an armed suspect tried running. During the chase, both the officers and the suspect fired shots.

Police say the suspect is 31 year old Neal Joseph Arceneaux. He is described as a white man, about 6 foot 6 and about 205 pounds.

An extensive search of the area was completed by patrol and officers of the Tactical Enforcement Unit; however, the suspect was not located. No officers were injured during the incident, and the condition of the suspect is unknown at this time. The suspect is wanted on numerous felony warrants unrelated to this investigation and should be considered armed and dangerous. The investigation is ongoing.

CSPD is asking that you lock your doors, stay inside and shelter in place until further notice. If you see anything suspicious please contact 911 immediately. CSPD is looking for a Caucasian male in his 30’s who is six foot wearing a gray hoodie and light blue jeans. Do not approach the suspect if you see him. Stand by for additional information.
