The Salvation Army on New Circle Rd. takes in about 2 million dollars a year. Well I guess thats not enough for them. They have brought in a new Major and so called manager that does not know how to do her own paper work and forces the assitant manager to do it for her. They are treating there workers worse than ever! They have fired a few and alot have quit because of the verbal abuse and unfair treatment. The workers that are still there are expected to do their job and the jobs of the ones that have left. The new major has raised prices and went so far as to raise the price on the pop machine in the break room for employees from 75 cents to $1 per can saying that the extra quarter is a donation to the store. They were already making 50 cents a can profit! Now their tripling there money on there sodas sold to EMPLOYEES!!! They are also taking away employee personal days and are not allowed to miss work without going to the DR. who can afford to go to the Dr. everytime you get a cold??? This organization is GREEDY as they come and just as CROOKED! You people donate to these crooks thinking you are helping the community when in all honesty you are not. Your money is going straight to Ohio. Do some research and you’ll see Im telling the TRUTH! PLEASE DONATE YOUR GOODS TO A LOCAL CHARITY THAT HELPS THE PEOPLE OF LEXINGTON! PLEASE!!!

Insider, you and all employees need to start bringing your own drinks to work. Don’t let them force you to donate soda money. Refuse to buy the sodas from their machine and let that be your only “donation” to the store.

Salvation charges too much for donated items anyway. Other thrift shops underprice them by far and have cleaner merchandise. I never donate to Salvation Army!! The purpose of charity is to help those less fortunate, not help those selling to the less fortunate make a fortune.

I think the Salvation Army is a damn racket.

You have to be armed to go in there anyway. Like Cracktown Heights.

The Salvation Army is threatening to close soup kitchens for tens of thousands of New York’s homeless and walk away from other projects if the city enacts legislation requiring firms that do business with New York to offer health benefits to the partners of gay staffers.

The evangelical faith is prepared to give up the $70 million a year in city funding it receives and pull out of New York entirely the New York Post reports.

With soup kitchens, shelters, foster care programs, and HIV services the Salvation Army is one of the largest private aid groups in New York serving some 5 million people annually.

The Salvation Army has several multiyear contracts with the city totaling $250 million. This week they have suddenly decided to not sell books by the bag anymore. They could have raised the price to $3.99 or even $4.99 and people like me would still be there buying books they got for free! Most of their labor is free too!

But nope! They think people will come in there and pay them $2 a book. I will not! I will drive up the road to the next little town and shop at ARC and the other local thrift stores.

Sal Army just lost one regular customer that shopped there TWICE a week EVERY week!

I will not donate to or purchase from Salvation Army ever again!!

Corporate Greed! They can call themselves a church, but they are just another greedy corporation!

Salvation army is horrible and expensive. So is Goodwill. Now, the Rescue Mission Thrift store is great. All clothes 1.49 ,.75 for kids. And any price they have on furniture is not set in stone. They work with you and their proceeds help homeless people as well as addicts. People that have been in prison. They are by no means making the big bucks and are struggling as they are closing one location in OCT. But they are all awesome people.
